Assam Cricket Association to develop cricket infrastructure at Barhampur in Nagaon

Assam Cricket Association today inked a MoU with Assam Police for developing cricket infrastructure at Adarsha Gaon, Barhampur in the district of Nagaon.

GUWAHATI: Assam Cricket Association today inked a MoU with Assam Police for developing cricket infrastructure at Adarsha Gaon, Barhampur in the district of Nagaon. The MoU was signed in the presence of a host of dignitaries including Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, DGP, Assam; Jitu Goswami, MLA, Barhampur, Nitul Gogoi, IGP (Admin) along with president and secretary of the Assam Cricket Association Romen Dutta and Devajit Saikia respectively. On the occasion, the foundation stone of the ACA-AP Cricket Complex was also laid down by Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.

As per the MoU, Assam Cricket Association will build a proper and standard cricket ground in the 26 bighas of land along with a satellite Cricket Academy for the Central Assam Zone. Speaking on the occasion, Devajit Saikia announced that the Assam Cricket Association would build centre wickets along with 10 practice wickets at the complex, besides developing swimming pool facilities and a 100-seater players' hostel.

Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, in his brief speech, said that Assam Police was happy to collaborate with Assam Cricket Association for the development of overall sports in general, and Cricket in particular.
