GUWAHATI: The Assam Sports Journalists Association felicitated its founder member and former Secretary Dr Samudra Gupta Kashyap on being appointed Chancellor of Nagaland University by the President of India here on Saturday.
Kashyap is a life member of Assam Sports Journalists Association and has been a guiding force to the state’s apex sports journalists’ organization over the past four decades.
A delegation of Assam Sports Journalists Association, comprising President Subodh Malla Barua, Secretary Imt-iaz Ahmed, Treasurer Partha Chakraborty and member Abdul Gani visited Kashyap at his residence and congratu-lated him for his new assignment.
Kashyap thanked the Assam Sports Journalists Association for the honour and said, “It’s a great pleasure to be wished by an organization we founded four decades ago. It’s kind of an inspiration. I shall always continue to guide the organization in future... I am also grateful to the President of India for reposing faith in me to shoulder such a huge responsibility.”
