Guwahati Registers Emphatic Victory Over Bilasipara In Kanaklata Baruah Women’s Inter District Cricket Tournament

Guwahati registered a comfortable 103 runs win over Bilasipara in the Kanaklata Baruah Women’s Inter District Cricket tournament held in Guwahati's Nehru Stadium.

GUWAHATI: Guwahati registered a comfortable 103 runs win over Bilasipara in the Kanaklata Baruah Women’s Inter District Cricket tournament held in Guwahati's Nehru Stadium on Friday.

Ruhina Pegu's quickfire 61 runs off just 41 balls, smashing 9 nine boundaries and Hiramoni Saikia's crucial 58 run cameo off just 45 balls, hitting four boundaries helped Guwahati put up a formidable score of 195 in 30 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

In response, Bilasipara were bowled out for just 92 runs in 26.3 overs. Shreyashree Das of the winning team delivered an exceptional bowling performance with mindblowing figures of 4-15 that helped Guwahati breeze past their opponents.

Brief scores: Guwahati 195-3 (30 overs), Ruhina Pegu 61 no, Hiramoni Saikia 58 no, Shivani Bishnoi 40, Bilasipara 92 (26.3 overs), Moromi Begum 23, Shreyashree Das 4-15.

Meanwhile, Guwahati made a winning start in the Kanaklata Baruah Women’s Inter District Cricket thrashing Rangia by 10 wickets in the opening game played at the Nehru Stadium on May 22.

Electing to bat first, Rangia could only manage to score 48 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 30 overs and Guwahati took just 4.2 overs to reach the target without losing a wicket.

Notably, Hiramoni Saikia is captaining the Guwahati team with Sneha Sinha acting as the team's vice-captain.

The players included in the squad are Hiramoni Saikia (Captain), Ruhina Pegu, Jyoti Devi, Sibani Bishnoi, Sneha Sinha (Vice Captain), Jinan Hussain, Joyshree Hazarika, Nishita Bhattacharyya, Sikha Bora, Binita Sarma, Baibhabee Das, Shreyashree Das, Saanvi Jain, Samjita Barman and Aaraina Sonowal.

This team is coached by Ashok Talukdar and Bhaskarjyoti Barman with Mazneen Sultana Ali Ahmed fulfilling the role of Manager.
