BTR lift 1st Inter 6th Schedule Premier League trophy in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Team BTR emerged victorious in the 1st Inter 6th Schedule Premier League (ISPL), organized by government of BTR, by defeating Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) 1-0 in the final held at SAI SAG Centre, Kokrajhar on Sunday evening.

The lone goal for champion team was scored by Sanam Basumatary in 51st minute.

The president of Indian Football Federation Kalyan Chaubey attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.

Cabinet Minister UG Brahma released the souvenir "Jwlur-ISPL, 2022". The ceremony was also attended by CEMs of BTR-Pramod Boro, BKWAC-Mihiniswar Basumatary, Deputy Chief of Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), C. Rwngwra, Deputy Chief of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) Nikman CH Marak, Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary, General Secretary of Central Young Lai Association Joseph Lalhmingtamga , president of Assam Football Federation and MLA Naba Kumar Doley, president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) and representatives of Bhutan India Friendship Association (BIFA).

Before the start of final match 550 Bodo damsels presented a colourful Bagurumbha traditional dance. Various cultural troupes from different communities also presented traditional dance.

The champion trophy and Rs. 3 lakh was given away by chief guest Kalyan Chaubey and runners up trophy and Rs. 2 lakh was given away by Naba Kumar Doley while 2nd runners up trophy and Rs. 1 lakh was given away to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council by Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary.

Jwngbla Brahma and S. Mashahary were adjusted as the men of match and man of series respectively. They were given golden boot, trophy and Rs. 25,000 each by the CEM of BTR Pramod Boro and Deputy Chief Gabinda Chandra Basumatary respectively.
