DD Assam reach semis in North East Media Champions Trophy

GUWAHATI: Doordarshan Assam stormed into the semifinals of the 4th North East Media Champions Trophy, organized by Evergreen Group, defeating DY 365 by 69 runs in their second group match at Judges’ Field on Saturday.

Batting first, DD Assam managed 184 runs in allotted 15 overs losing 3 wickets. Hemanta Talukdar (56 off 36 balls), S Banerjee (55no off 18) and Anuj Basfore (50 off 29 balls) scored unbeaten half-centuries. Kishor Talukdar took two wickets.

In reply, DY 365 could score 115 in alloted overs losing 6 wickets. Deepjyoti Kalita hit 33 runs.

Earlier, Shillong Press Club beat Prag News by 3 wickets in a well contested match.

DY 365 will face DA News Plus while Shillong Press Club will play against NB News tomorrow.
