GUWAHATI: Devojyoti Borpuzari of Jorhat won the double crown in the 3rd Samarendra Rajkumar Veteran Tennis Tournament which concluded at the Jorhat Tennis Club today.
In the +45 years doubles, Devojyoti, paired with Abdul Hakim of Duliajan, won the title defeating Subhasish Dutta Gupta and Suresh Sarda (both from Silchar) 6-4, 6-4 and in the +55 doubles, Devojyoti and his partner Dilip Somani of Jorhat defeated Bharat Kumar Phukan of Bokakhat and Mridul Barkotoly of Guwahati 6-3, 6-4 in the final.
The Anil Kumar Barooah Trophy for the +35 years doubles was won by Priyanku Kapil and Tanvir Iqbal, both of Sibsagar, defeating Amiya Sarkar and Rituraj Baruah from Jorhat by 6-2, 2-6,10-6.
