GUWAHATI: The young striker of NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) Dipu Mirdha recently talked to The Sentinel during a function of the team held in the city. Here is the expert.

The Sentinel (TS): Making a comeback in NEUFC this season!

Dipu: Yes. I played for this team in 2019. However due to Covid-19 and some other reasons I was not part of the team for the last two seasons. It's nice to feel that I am back again.

TS: How is the team this season?

Dipu: It's good. We have quality players in all the positions and hope we will be able to display a good show in the competition.

TS: What can local fans expect from NEUFC this time?

Dipu: I can assure you that we will give 100 percent in the field and try to play good soccer throughout the competition. We just need good support from our fans.

TS: Share your football journey…

Dipu: I belong to Dergaon. My father brought me into the game when I was just five years old. Later I shifted to Guwahati and Maolang Ao sir (coach of AP Blues) helped me a lot to reach this stage. I also played for ASEBSC and Sunrise Club in the GSA Super Division Football League before I joined NEUFC in 2019.

TS: What is your future plan?

Dipu: I want to utilize the opportunity that I got this season and will try my best to earn a national team jersey.
