Exhibition football match will be played at Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium, Guwahati

An exhibition football match will be played between Brahmputra Braves and North East Tigers, teams of combined players from Army, Airforce, Assam Rifles and famous football clubs like Shillong Lajong FC, Aizawl FC and Gokulam Kerala FC at Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium, Guwahati on October 9. The event is planned to commemorate 50 years of 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War between India and Pakistan.

GUWAHATI: An exhibition football match will be played between Brahmputra Braves and North East Tigers, teams of combined players from Army, Airforce, Assam Rifles and famous football clubs like Shillong Lajong FC, Aizawl FC and Gokulam Kerala FC at Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium, Guwahati on October 9. The event is planned to commemorate 50 years of 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War between India and Pakistan.

The event will be graced by the presence of Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma and other dignitaries. Besides football match other attractions of the event would be Slithering, Sky Diving, Khukhri Dance, North East Warrior Show and Armed Forces Band Display. Army is also planning to felicitate Indian athletes who have done our nation proud at the recently concluded Tokyo Paralympic Games. This is stated in a release.
