GUWAHATI: Gauhati Sports Association (GSA) will start all its future activities after going through the government directives. This was disclosed by the secretary of the Gauhati Sports Association Dhrubajyoti Kalita.

Entire sports activities of the state had come to a standstill once lockdown was imposed to combat COVID-19. Gauhati Sports Association also stopped its all activities for nearly two and half month because of this restriction. They were even forced to postpone their annual general meeting also which was scheduled to be held in May.

Talking to The Sentinel Kalita said,"We are helpless. The situation forced us to stop all our activities which included a few events of the last season's calendar and also our annual general meeting. We don't know when everything would become normal and we will be able to start our activities."

He also added: "Recently members of our steering committee met through an audio conference and discussed on the current situation. It was decided in the discussion to wait for the government directives before taking any decision on the resumption of regular activities. So we are now waiting for the government directives."

It may be mentioned here that only national level athletes of the state are allowed to start their practice. State associations were instructed to follow all precautionary measures against COVID-19 before the players entered into the stadium and also during the training.
