GUWAHATI: Gauhati Town Club (GTC) registered their first victory in the 67th Bordoloi Trophy defeating Daimalu Club of Udalguri by a solitary goal at the Judges Field here today. The all important goal of the match was scored by Didlon Hajowary in the 33rd minutes of the first half.

In the other game of the day at Morigaon Assam Police Blues and Bodousa SC shared points after the game ended goalless draw.

Gauhati Town club, who drew their first game in the competition against ASEBSC, made good start today and kept busy the opponent defenders. However the side had to wait till 33rd minutes to open their account when Didlon nicely headed in a cross sent by Sayao.

The side also reached close to score another goal in the same half but this time Swarup Rabha's powerful shot returned hitting the bar.

Daimalu although tried to play attacking game throughout the match but most of the time their attacks were not so organized.

With today's victory Gauhati Town club is now top of the group 'A' points table with four points from two games. Daimalu are at second spot with 3 points from the same number of matches. In group 'B' Assam Police Blues now top of the table with four points.
