Gokul to lead Assam in Vijay Hazare

Assam Cricket Association announced a 15-member squad for the forthcoming Vijay Hazare One-day Cricket Championship.

GUWAHATI: Assam Cricket Association announced a 15-member squad for the forthcoming Vijay Hazare One-day Cricket Championship. Middle order batsman Gokul Sharma named captain of the team which will miss the service of promising batsman Riyan Parag because of injury.

Assam will play their group matches in Tamil Nadu and it will kick off on February 20. The team will likely to leave the city on February 12 to enter into a bio-bubble hub and will also undergo three COVID Tests between February 13-17.

Assam are placed in plate group along with minnors Uttarakhand, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Sikkim.

Squad: Gokul Sharma (C), Pallav Kumar Das, Sarupam Purkayastha, Denish Das, Saahil Jain, Sib Sankar Roy , Rajjakuddin Ahmed, Kunal Saikia, Abhisekh Thakuri, Mukhtar Hussain, Abu Nechim Ahmed, Pritam Das, Sunil Lachit, Amlanjyoti Das and Abhilash Gogoi.
