GUWAHATI: The sixth edition of the Guwahati Open Junior Tennis Championship – 2023, organized by Guwahati Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) got off to a colourful start at the RG Baruah Sports Complex here today. Justice (Retd) PG Agarwala, veteran eminent sportsman Pradip Chaliha, senior journalist and sports organizer Pranay Bordoloi and the president of the Guwahati Lawn Tennis Association Kalyan Kumar Das attended the inaugural function. Veteran tennis player and former state champion Shyamange Rajkhowa was also felicitated for his immense contribution in the field of tennis.
Altogether 150 players from the various parts of the region are taking part in it. The championship is being held for both Boy’s and Girl’s Singles (under 12, 14, 18 years and Boy’s / Girl’s Combined (under 10 years) respectively.
