GUWAHATI: Highlander Brigade, the supporters’ group of NorthEast United FC, will unveil Asia’s largest-ever handmade tifo during the club’s first home match of the Indian Super League (ISL) here on Sunday. NEUFC in their opening game will face Mumbai City FC and the match will be held at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium.

The 12,375 sq ft tifo will incorporate the heritage of the region. The supporter group said that it would be the Asia’s largest ever handmade tifo that would be unveiled during a football match.

In a release the Highlander Brigade said, “It has taken us around 15 days to prepare the tifo so far which in-cluded drawing, painting, tailoring of the clothes used for it. We faced a lot of challenges during the entire process. The work for the tifo initially started at the Sarusajai stadium but because of incessant rains in Guwahati, we had to shift it to Abhayapuri. We are optimistic that we will be able to reach our goal tomorrow.”
