GUWAHATI: Hiren Tayung clinched the Second GCA online Open Chess Tournament title held on Saturday. The competition was organized by the Guwahati Chess Academy and altogether 56 players from Assam and other states participated in the meet.

Hiren made good performance in the competition and collected 5 points from his 6 rounds to win the title. Hirakjyoti Deka, Samaritan Dutta and Nihad Islam Hazarika also scored 5 points each but declared second, third and fourth respectively on the basis of tie-break score.

Among the girl's competitors Bharsita Saharia got first position with 4 points. Unmilita Pathak and Hridika Das also scored 4 points each but declared second and third respectively on the basis of tie-break score.

In under-7 category Rajat Bafna collected 4 points on way to win first position. Jayraj Barman won first spot with 4 points in under-9 category. In U-11 category Jyotshnav Talukdar won first position scoring 4.5 points. Tanveer Ahmed bagged 5.5 points and got first spot in U-13 categories. On the other hand Shubham Kumar won title scoring 3 points in U-15 category.

Shuvang Pran Kashyap from Guwahati Chess Academy was adjudged best players award of the meet.
