India Club Open Tennis Championship will kick off at the Club premises in the city on January 23. The tournament carries a total scholarship of Rs 1,48,300.

GUWAHATI: India Club Open Tennis Championship will kick off at the Club premises in the city on January 23. The tournament carries a total scholarship of Rs 1,48,300.

Informing the news to the media the Chairman of the organizing committee Bimal Bharali and Tournament Director Diganta Thakur said, “Nearly 350 players from various parts of the State will take part in the 7-day tournament which will be held in various age categories along with Veteran doubles.”

Former National Men’s champion and Arjuna Awardee Jaidip Mukherjee will attend the inaugural function as the chief guest and the event will also be graced by former number one national tennis player Susan Das Choudhury and the secretary of the All Assam Tennis Association Ankush Dutta. The media briefing was also attended by Organising Secretary Arnab Kumar Sarma and others.
