GUWAHATI: The qualifying round matches of the ITF Juniors Tennis Tournament for boys and girls U-18 years got under way at the All Assam Tennis Association complex today. All the boys players from Assam bowed out from the qualifying stage losing their ties in the first round. In the girls qualifying round Neekita Kand Sonowal of Assam lost her first-round match to Vennela Reddy Gaarugupati 1-6, 0-6. The other Assam girl Tanisqa Patar withdrew her name from the tournament.
