Jayanta Talukdar recovered from COVID-19

International archer Jayanta Talukdar is recovered from COVID-19 and is discharged from hospital today. Former Olympian was recently admitted to the COVID hospital at Kalapahar in the city after he was tested positive.

GUWAHATI: International archer Jayanta Talukdar is recovered from COVID-19 and is discharged from hospital today. Former Olympian was recently admitted to the COVID hospital at Kalapahar in the city after he was tested positive. Later he was shifted to ICU for low oxygen count.

Ranjan Talukdar, the father of Jayanta, informed The Sentinel that the archer was released from the hospital after his latest test report came negative. "However Jayanta was very weak now and we have decided to keep him under the super vision of doctors. So he has admitted to a city nursing home," said senior Talukdar.

An Arjuna Awardee, Jayanta won an individual gold medal in the World Cup Archery in 2006. He also collected two Asian Games team bronze medals in 2006 and 2010 respectively.
