Karbi Anglong Morning Star lift Assam State Premier League Football title

Karbi Anglong Morning Star clinched the Assam State Premier League Football title defeating United Chirang Duar 5-3 in the final held at Diphu today.

GUWAHATI: Karbi Anglong Morning Star clinched the Assam State Premier League Football title defeating United Chirang Duar 5-3 in the final held at Diphu today. Karbi Anglong Morning Star were trailing 1-2 in the lemon break but they came back strongly in the second half and scored four more goals to settle the match in favour of them. United Chirang Duar also added one more goal to their tally in the second half.

Earlier Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the final and he was introduced to the players of both the teams. In a brief speech Sarma said that football is one of the most popular games in the State and the Government had chalked out plans to rebuild the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati as a football stadium equipped with all modern facilities.
