SILCHAR: Kaimganj Hockey Association celebrates national sports day through release of book on the game, inter school quiz competition and felicitation of achievers in the field at a function organized in the premises of Badarpur Progressive School. The quiz was based on the questions related to hockey and just concluded Tokyo Olympics. The interesting quiz competition was conducted by well known sports journalist Taz Uddin. The first position was held by Progressive School.
Nirmal Bhattacharjee, a football referee of repute, was felicitated on the occasion. He was quizzed by students on various aspects of football and the ache footballer replied to them to their applause. This was followed by the release of the book 'Hockey 60' penned by Emad Uddin.It was a well organized celebration that elicited enthusiasm and joy among students.
Yusuf Ahmed Choudhury and Anur Ahmed Laskar of Progressive School secured first position in quiz completion. Second position was held by Nazmin Sultana and Parveen of Markaj Academy of Bhanga. Zahir Uddin and Nazmul Hussain of Gurucharan High School obtained third position. Amit Suklabaidya Memorial Trophy was handed over to winners of quiz completion by Nirmal Bhattacharjee, Sahirul Islam, president of hockey association, Pintu Suklabaidya, treasurer, Mabrur Alam, member, Mohd Shahjahan, mentor of Progressive School, Dilwar Hussain Tapadar and Rezina Akhtar, teachers of Markaj Academy.
