Nalbari lift JK Baruah Inter District Cricket title defeating Silchar

Nalbari lifted the JK Baruah Inter District Cricket title defeating Silchar by virtue of the first innings lead in the final at Golaghat today. The match between the two sides ended as draw but Nalbari managed to earn first innings lead.

GUWAHATI: Nalbari lifted the JK Baruah Inter District Cricket title defeating Silchar by virtue of the first innings lead in the final at Golaghat today. The match between the two sides ended as draw but Nalbari managed to earn first innings lead.

In reply to Silchar's first innings total 190 Nalbari were 195-3 in their first innings when the match came to an end. However the 2nd day's play on Tuesday witnessed delayed start because of rain. First two sessions of the day were completely washed out.

Nihar Deka, who remained not out 58 yesterday, continued his good form with bat and scored century in the first innings. The batsman faced 129 balls to score 109 runs. He was later adjudged player of the final.

The award function was attended by President and Vice President of Assam Cricket Association Romen Dutta and Porikshit Dutta respectively, President and secretary of the Golaghat District Sports Association Ajit Barua and Sanjib Handique and several others.
