NEUFC need win to move quarters

GUWAHATI: NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) will take on Downtown Heroes FC of Kashmir in the last match of Group ‘D’ in the 132nd edition of the Durand Cup at the Indira Gandhi Athletics stadium here on Sunday. The match will kick off at 3PM.

The Highlanders need to secure all the three points from the game in order to progress into the quarter finals of the competition for the first time.

Local outfit already played two games in the competition. In the first match they rode on a Parthib Gogoi hat-trick routed Shillong Lajong 4-0. Later the side finished 2-2 draw with FC Goa. Downtown Heroes on the other hand, besides their 0-3 loss to Goa, went down to a 10-man Shillong Lajong after being ahead by a goal.
