A new book titled ‘Kriranganat Ejak Xoponar Saudagar’ of senior journalist Jayanta Kumar Das was unveiled at the Gauhati Press Club here today.

GUWAHATI: A new book titled 'Kriranganat Ejak Xoponar Saudagar' of senior journalist Jayanta Kumar Das was unveiled at the Gauhati Press Club here today. The book was released by senior journalist Pranoy Bordoloi. Others, who attended on this occasion, were president of Assam Kho Kho Association Rajib Prakash Barua, former international shuttler Madhuarya Barua, Assam Police official Mukul Saikia, president of Krira Bharati (Kamrup-M) Amal Deka and sports organizer Kailash Sharma.

Sharing his idea to pen the new book, published by Olympia Prakashan, the author Das said, 'Our chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had announced earlier to make Guwahati as the sports capital of India and the work is already started to reach that goal. I have tried to collect the views and suggestions of former and current sports-persons and organizers in this regard so that the sports department can chalk out their plans in more professional way."

In a brief speech in the function former shuttler Madhurya today appealed to the State government to make the sports policy more professional so that sports-persons of the State can get more benefit in various areas like training and others.
