GUWAHATI: Continuing their superb form in this session News Live, who won the 6th TG Baruah Memorial Media T20 Cricket Tournament last month, lifted the inaugural Sai Vikash NE Media Cricket Tournament at Judges’ Field on Saturday by defeating Asomiya Pratidin 5 wickets in the summit clash.
Electing to bat, Pratidin managed only 99 runs in allotted 20 overs losing 8 wickets with the help of Tauhid Ali Talukdar’s 39. Ranjit Changmai and Abuddin Khan claimed two wickets each. News Live reached the small target in the 15th over losing 5 wickets. Man of the Match Ranjit scored 27 off 17 balls while opener Anupam Mahanta added 26 runs.
Ranjit Changmai also won the Man of the Series award with 130 runs and 5 wickets in the meet. Best Batsman and Best Bowler awards went to Anupam Mahanta and Bikash Chetry (both News Live) respectively.
The president of the Assam Cricket Association Roman Dutta, Vice President of ACA Parikhit Dutta, Secretary of GMDA Paragmoni Mahanta, former Ranji cricketers Gautam Hazarika, Nasir Gul Khan, women cricketer Manisha Das along with coach Nabab Ali attended at the closing ceremony.
