GUWAHATI: NF Railway became the champion of the 1st Kanaklata Baruah Inter-District Women's Cricket Championship 2022 defeating Lakhimpur by 107 runs in the final at Amingaon Cricket Ground on Monday.
Winning the toss, NFR scored 165 runs in 20 overs losing 4 wickets. Manikha Das 41(25), Kalpana Chautal 39 (35), Genevie Pando 26 (21) were the major contributors. In reply, Lakhimpur were bundled out for just 58 runs in 20 overs. Maini Payeng scored 22 runs. Kalpana Chautal claimed 3 wickets for 5 while Suparna Sinha took 2 wickets for 5.
Kalpana was adjudged as the Best player of the Final while Monikha Das of NF Railway won the Best Player of the Tournament award. Best Bowler and Best Woman awards went to Arpana Karmakar of Bokakhat and Hiramoni Saikia of Nagaon respectively.
