Guwahati: NFRSA Trounce Rangia In Kanaklata Baruah Women’s Inter District Cricket Championship

GUWAHATI: NFRSA thrashed Rangia by 10 wickets in a group stage encounter of the Kanaklata Baruah Women’s Inter District Cricket Competition held in Guwahati's Nehru Stadium.

Monikha Das and Nirupama Baro of the winning team stole the show with their exceptional bowling performance, registering impressive figures of 4-12 and 3-0 respectively.

Electing to bat first, Rangia put up a dismal show with the bat as they were bowled out for just 18 runs in 14 overs.

This humiliating score happens to be one of the lowest in the tournament. NFRSA comfortably chased down this target in only 2.1 overs without losing a wicket.

Earlier, Guwahati registered a comfortable 103 runs win over Bilasipara in the same tournament.

Ruhina Pegu's quickfire 61 runs off just 41 balls, smashing 9 nine boundaries and Hiramoni Saikia's crucial 58 run cameo off just 45 balls, hitting four boundaries helped Guwahati put up a formidable score of 195 in 30 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

In response, Bilasipara were bowled out for just 92 runs in 26.3 overs. Shreyashree Das of the winning team delivered an exceptional bowling performance with mindblowing figures of 4-15 that helped Guwahati breeze past their opponents.
