GUWAHATI: Silchar are in the driver’s seat against Lakhimpur on day I in the second semi final of Nuruddin Senior Inter District Cricket at the Amingaon Cricket ground today. Elected to bat, Lakhimpur were bowled out 162 (65.1 overs) thanks to a nice spell from Rahul Singh who took five wickets giving away 42 runs. Hrishikesh Borah, came into bat at number 9 position, fought well for Lakhimpur and scored a half century before got out on the bowling of Rahul. Hrisikesh faced 70 balls to score 55 and there were six boundaries and two over boundaries in his innings.
In reply Silchar were 88-0 in their first innings at stumps. Openers Manash Gogoi and Parvej Musaraf remained unbeaten on 42 and 38 runs respectively. Silchar needed 75 runs to take first innings lead.
