Nuruddin Senior Inter District Cricket tournament: Silchar storm into Nuruddin final

GUWAHATI: Silchar thrashed Lakhimpur by an innings and 10 runs and stormed into the final of the Nuruddin Senior Inter District Cricket tournament at the Amingaon Cricket Ground here today. The four-day final will kick off on June 30 where Silchar will face NFRSA.

In reply to Lakhimpur’s first innings total 162, Silchar today declared their first innings 384-9. Amit Yadav (50) scored half century on Tuesday and Jitumoni Kalita took 4-116. Later Lakhimpur bowled out 212 in the second innings. Ruhinandan Pegu played a beautiful knock in the second innings and scored exactly 100 before getting out. He faced 118 balls and there were 17 boundaries in his innings. Jintumoni Kalita (61, 4X6) also scored a half century in the second innings. Rahul Singh once again came out with a good performance with the ball for Silchar and picked up 5-72. He finished 10-114 in the game.
