'OIL Lakshya' launched at the Duliajan Club auditorium

Oil India Limited launched CSR project ‘OIL Lakshya’ on Sunday at the Duliajan Club auditorium. On this occasion, a seminar was organized on the theme “Importance of Coach Education” in partnership with Duliajan Football Coaching Centre and Association of Assam Football Coaches.

DIBRUGARH : Oil India Limited launched CSR project 'OIL Lakshya' on Sunday at the Duliajan Club auditorium. On this occasion, a seminar was organized on the theme "Importance of Coach Education" in partnership with Duliajan Football Coaching Centre and Association of Assam Football Coaches.

The seminar was inaugurated by Prasanta Borkakoty, RCE, OIL in presence of Rajeeb Kumar Bora, CGM (HR&A), S. P. Das, GM (Public Affairs)i/c, Debashis Bora, DGM (Public Affairs-CSR&CC), Tridiv Hazarika DGM (Public Affairs-CSR&CC), Nayana Madhu Dutta, Sr. Manager (Public Affairs – CSR) and other dignitaries of OIL, district sports authorities, veteran footballers of the region, Duliajan Football Coaching Centre and Association of Assam Football Coaches. Borkakoty unveiled the official logo of 'OIL Lakshya' and ceremoniously distributed jersey to few coaches.

"The project also aims at creating community bonding through sports," said Borkakoty.

The program in its first phase envisages providing AIFF (All India Football Federation) D license coach education program to 24 football coaches from Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Charaideo and Sivsagar districts of Assam. The AIFF D License Coach Education Program will be held from today to September 25 at Nehru Maidan, Duliajan. On successful completion of the coaching program, the coaches will work towards forming football teams at grassroots level for promotion and development of football in rural areas of their respective centres. The centres will also be provided with football and other training equipment.

The objective behind OIL Lakshya project is to create avenues for providing professional training to football coaches who will play the role of a catalyst in nurturing football players in the state also focusing on allied sciences related to sports.
