GUWAHATI: Spectators will be allowed to enter into the ACA stadium, Barsapara during the warm-up matches of the ICC World Cup three hours prior to the start of the game. ACA stadium will host four warm-up matches starting on Friday and all the games will begin from 2pm.
Addressing a media gathering the venue security head for this game Parikshit Dutta said, “We have decided to open the gate for the spectators from 11am. It will help the crowd to go inside the stadium without facing too much disturbance.”
He also added that spectators would not be allowed to carry any items except purses and mobile phones during their entry at the stadium.
Meanwhile several traffic changes have been made for the smooth conduct of the warm up matches.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic) Jayanta Sarathi Borah said to ensure safety of public, especially vulnerable road users like children, students, women, senior citizens and differently abled persons several restrictions on the movement of vehicles will be imposed during the match days. Borah added: “ The vehicles would be allowed to ply from the Cycle Factory side towards Lakhra Chariali. But the vehicles will not be allowed to enter from Lakhra Chariali except the car pass holders for the match, school buses and emergency vehicles. Several parking places were also created adjacent to the stadium where the spectators can park their vehicles.”
