GUWAHATI: Assam Cricket Association postponed the Nuruddin Inter District Cricket Tournament for two days because of heavy rainfall and prevailing bad weather conditions in Guwahati. The competition will resume onMay 18.
It may be mentioned here that different parts of the State, including Guwahati, witnessed heavy showers for the last couple of days and three games of the competition were badly affected because of it. All three games were called off after the first day's play and the points were shared between the teams.
The rain even disturbed the travel plan of the participating team also. The Silchar team, which was supposed to start their campaign in the final leg of the competition tomorrow, was stranded at Ditekcherra yesterday after the train service was disrupted because of heavy rain. Entire team returned to Silchar today and are expected to arrive in Guwahati on Tuesday.
