GUWAHATI: As expected promising cricketer from Assam Riyan Parag is retained by the Rajasthan Royals for the next edition of IPL. The decision gave Riyan an opportunity to make debut at home ground in an IPL tie.
It was almost sure that Rajasthan Royals will retain Riyan in their team after the Franchise decided to play at least two of their home matches in Guwahati during the next edition of IPL. The key officials of the Franchise, during their recent visit to the city, also gave hints about the retention of Riyan in the team.
This season Rajasthan Royals retained XI players and Riyan is one of them. The other was: Steve Smith, Sanju Samson, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Shashank Singh, Shreyas Gopal, Mahipal Lomror, Varun Aaron and Manan Vohra. It may be mentioned here that altogether 71 players were released by the different franchises this year.
