GUWAHATI: Senior National Taekwondo Championship concluded at the Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium here today. Several players from Assam collected medals on the concluding day of the competition.
International player Rodali Baruah, who participated in the competition for Goa, collected gold medal in the 73kg Women Kyorugi event. Akanksha Gogoi, Maheswata Kashyap and Sweta Sarma gave Assam a bronze in the women’s team event in Poomsae. On the other hand Abhijit Kalita, who represented SSB, won a silver medal in the U-40 year pair categories.
The closing ceremony of the meet was attended by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and he also distribut-ed the awards among the winners. In a brief speech at the function Sarma said," Assam Government always ex-tends help when there is a National or international level sports competition in the State and it will be continued in the future also."
