Shiva, Lovlina, Pwilao ensure medals in 36th National Games, Assam adds 2 medals in wushu

Assam collected two more medals in the 36th National Games today and both came in Wushu.

GUWAHATI: Assam collected two more medals in the 36th National Games today and both came in Wushu.

Rongila Daimary collected a silver medal in the women's all round event. On the other hand Sanjib Kumar Singh won a bronze in the same event in the men's section.

Meanwhile three boxers from Assam ensured medals in the Games today. The trio is Lovlina Borgohain, Pwilao Basumatry and Shiva Thapa. In the quarter final Lovlina, participating in the 75kg category, easily defeated Indraja of Kerala by 5-0. Pwilao defeated Dimple of Uttarakhand in the 60kg category.

Shiva Thapa won his bout against Bikash of Punjab 5-0 in 67 kg.

However another Assam boxer Manju Basumatary lost her quarter final bout 2-3 to Shobhaja Kohali in 52kg.
