GUWAHATI: Silchar, Dibrugarh and Biswanath Chariali completed the semifinal line up in the Nuruddin Senior Inter District Cricket Championship here today. Three sides joined Tezpur who booked their last-four berth yesterday. Both the semi finals will kick off on May 26 where Silchar will face Tezpur at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara and Dibrugarh will take on Biswnath Chariali at the Nehru Stadium.

All three last group league matches of the competition were completed today in various venues in the city. At Amingaon Stadium, Silchar defeated Tinsukia by 4 wickets. The side, chasing 164 to win, required 126 runs on the final day and they reached the target losing six wickets. Aman Singh (53) scored a half century. Captain Pritam Das and Joydeep Singh also played two good knocks which ensured victory for Silchar. The duo on the unbeaten seventh-wicket partnership added 59 runs. Pritam remained not out on 27 and Joydeep 30 (no). Akash Chetry of Tinsukia collected 4-63.

Meanwhile at the Judges Field, Biswanath Chariali defeated Karbi Anglong by 9 wickets. Biswanath today bowled out Karbi Anglong 143 in the second innings and later scored 28-1 in their second innings which was enough to win the game. While Raju Ghosh (40) and Vicky Hanse (31) were the two major contributors for Karbi Anglong in the second innings Rohit Rowniar picked up 4-58.

The match between Dibrugarh and Bongaigaon at the Nehru Stadium ended as a draw but Dibrugarh earned crucial 3 points by virtue of the first innings lead. In reply to Dibrugarh's first innings total 364-7 (dec) Bongaigaon were bowled out paltry 86 runs in their first innings on Monday. Dibrugarh today declared their second innings 116-5. Manab Barman (48) was the top scorer in the innings. Bongaigaon were 257-7 in the second innings when the match came to an end. The highlight of last day's play was a nice knock from Pallav Kumar Das who scored 118 (127 balls, 4X13, 6X1).
