GUWAHATI: We R North East defeated South Point School by eight wickets in the opening match of the 8th Sitaram Chhawchharia Memorial Trophy U-19 Inter Organisation Cricket at the Nehru Stadium here today.
Elected to bat in the game, South Point School bowled out 132 in 43.3 overs. While Khush Sanghvi (32) and Abhijit Barman (27) were the main contributors for the South Point School Ayushman Malakar, Sumit Kashyap and Manish Mahato from We R North East bagged two wickets each. We R North East reached the target in 26 overs losing 2 wickets. Rajbir Singh smashed an unbeaten 61 runs off 69 balls with the help of five boundaries and two over boundaries. Diwiz Pathak (28) and Sumit Kashyap (23) were the other major contributors.
