GUWAHATI: SLAC All India Open FIDE Rating Chess Championship will start in Guwahati from November 14. All Assam Chess Association will host the meet and it will be held at the Sarusajai Sports Complex. Addressing a media gathering the president of the All Assam Chess Association Kandarpa Kalita said that around 250 players from the different North East states along with Bengal and Delhi will take part in the five-day championship. The champion of the meet will receive a cash award of Rs 50,000 and the runners will be richer by Rs 35,000. The media briefing was also attended by secretary of the All Assam Chess Association Rajib Dhar.
