City based South Point School will provide full scholarship along with hostel facilities to promising chess players of the State whom need support to pursue their education and chess.

GUWAHATI: City based South Point School will provide full scholarship along with hostel facilities to promising chess players of the State whom need support to pursue their education and chess. The announcement was made by Krishnanjan Chanda, Principal of the School, during the Online Prize distribution of the All Assam Online Team Chess championship which was organized by the South Point School Today. 12 teams were participated in the meet and Dibrugarh bagged the top spot. Cachar and Jorhat finished second and third respectively. Dhruv Phukan of Dibrugarh and Mayank Chakraborty of Guwahati were awarded the best player awards. Total prize money of Rs 20,000 was distributed among the winners.
