BISWANATH CHARIALI: The State Executive Meeting of All Assam Taekwondo Association was held recently here. The office-bearers addressed a press conference at the end of the executive meeting. They informed that a special training centre for Taekwondo would be opened in five districts of Assam and one would be set up at Biswanath Chariali. They have taken up a special plan to train skilled taekwondo instructors in Assam and also demanded the appointment of permanent taekwondo instructors in schools.
Assuming that Taekwondo is a tool for women's self-defense, the Association called upon all women to get interested in taekwondo.
Arjun Chandra Barman, President of All Assam Taekwondo Association, Reva Kanta Gogoi, General Secretary, Bhaskar Ranjan Das, Executive Officer, Hridayananda Das, Director of Champion Makers' Academy, Dibyajyoti Das, President of Biswanath District Taekwondo Association and others were present in the press meet.
A felicitation programme was also held on the occasion in which senior physicians and scribes of Biswanath Chariali including Dr Amal Saikia, Dr Bikash Sarkar, Dr Dhruva Jyoti Phukan, Basanta Borah, Hiranya Borthakur, Ratan Bhuyan, Ajit Das etc were felicitated while Niranjan Hazarika was conferred with Special Sports' Journalist Award by All Assam Taekwondo Association.
