State Cricket Academy inducts 31 cricketers

During the residential programme, the young players will be nurtured and groomed to become valuable assets of Assam in the years to ensue

31 young cricketers today inducted into the highly ambitious and result-oriented residential programme of State Cricket Academy (SCA), Assam under the aegis of Assam Cricket Association. These 31 players, who are within the age bracket of 13-15 years, were selected through open trials conducted by SCA, Assam in the month of April, 2022 in various parts of the State. During the residential programme, the young players will be nurtured and groomed to become valuable assets of Assam in the years to ensue. Moreover, all major expenses of the players including their coaching, accommodation, and education will be borne by SCA until they attain the age of 18.

The induction ceremony, held today at the Conference Hall of ACA Stadium, Barsapara, Guwahati was attended by Romen Dutta, President, Assam Cricket Association; Devajit Saikia, Secretary, Assam Cricket Association; Rajinder Singh, Chairman, SCA, Assam and Ganesh Dutt Chugh, Technical Director, SCA, Assam.

Speaking at the event, Romen Dutta termed the SCA Residential Programme exceptional, and asserted that the programme would prove to be highly instrumental in finding quality players to represent Assam. He later interacted with the budding players, and wished them luck. Devajit Saikia, Secretary, Assam Cricket Association, in his address, held that the SCA Residential Programme was nothing short of revolutionary in nature, and was a major initiative of Assam Cricket Association in its relentless endeavour to develop the game of Cricket and cricketers.
