BORDUMSA : "After facilitating several meritious students of the district in pursuing their higher education in various reputed colleges and universities in several locations including Delhi, the district administration is now on its toe to promote and escalate the local talents in the field of sports", said Dr. Devansh Yadav, IAS, the Deputy Commissioner on Thursday morning.
The top administrator of the district was briefing The Sentinel about the selection trial of the local young footballers within U-15 and U- 18 male category from various schools of the district to be conducted by Sudeva Delhi Football Club (FC) from March 8 to March 29.
The two selected players thus emerging best out of the trial session slated at various locations of the district would be provided cent percent scholarship and would be trained in the said sports skill at Delhi –based Delhi Football Academy for a period of one year.
Dr. Yadav appealed the guardians to come forward and encourage their children to grab the sporting avenues at the right earnest and chose sports as their careers.
Terming the event as a dedicated approach to discover the potentialities, nurture the skills, and produce professional footballers among the school-going students by high ranking professionals and coaches of the organization like Sudeva FC' the top Civil Servant said that the maiden selection trial would be held at Setong Sena Stadium Nampong, Jairampur and Manmao from March 8 to 17 wherein players under 17 years of age would strive for their best. Two coaches from Manipur and Sudeva would conduct the trials.
Similarly, from March 14 to 17 the event would be held in Changlang while the session in Bordumsa is slated to be held from March 18 to 21. For the footballers of Diyun-Innao area the selection matches would be held at the Government HS school playground from March 22 to 24 and the last trial event would be conducted at Kharsang and Miao from March 25 to 29.
The final selection of the best two footballing students for the training and Trial Camp would be completed and declared between March 31 to April 6. The event being the first of its kind in the entire Eastern Arunachal, all preparation to this effect have already been afoot and necessary arrangements been almost completed with active cooperation from various government departments, partnering, promotional, and associating organizations. The registration process has already started.
