Tamil Nadu thrashed Assam by 10 wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Cricket tournament tie held in Kolkata today. Chasing 127 runs to win Tamil Nadu needed just 15 overs to score those runs without losing a wicket.

GUWAHATI: Tamil Nadu thrashed Assam by 10 wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Cricket tournament tie held in Kolkata today. Chasing 127 runs to win Tamil Nadu needed just 15 overs to score those runs without losing a wicket. Two openers Hari Nishanth and Narayan Jagadeesan remained not out on 47 and 78 runs respectively. Earlier Assam scored 126-7 in their 20 overs. Although the side lost wickets on regular intervals but two responsible knocks from Rajjakuddin and Riyan Parag made the total a little respectable.

Put into bat, captain Rishav Das and Pallav Kumar Das made a cautious start and added 29 runs (4.5 overs) before Pallav got out on 19. Rishav and one down batsman Denish Das although made good start but didn't able to stretch the innings and got out on individual score 15 and 15 respectively. On the other hand Saahil Jain and Avhishekh Thakuri too lost their wickets very early. Both of them contributed two runs each on he board.

The graph of the innings started to go up in quick pace once Rajjakuddin joined Riyan. The duo on sixth wicket added 38 runs from just 23 balls. Most of the run came from the bat of Rajjakuddin.The batsman, who played a good knock in the first game against Hyderabad, looked in good touch today also and contributed 29 from 14 balls with the help of four boundaries and one six. Riyan put 24 from 26 balls and there were one boundary and one over boundary in his innings.
