GUWAHATI: Team Green are in driver’s seat in the final of the Challenger Trophy cricket which got under way at the Judges ground here today. In reply to Team Red’s first innings total 218 they finished the day one at 73/1 in their first innings. Tomorrow is the last day of the final.
Team Red today won the toss and elected to bat first. Gokul Sarma, the top scorer of the side, scored 75 runs facing 138 balls and there were 10 hits to the fence. Pritam Das (38) and Rishav Das (36) were the other major contributors. With the ball Roshan Alam (4-56) and Bikash Chetry (3-53) picked up most of the wickets for Team Green.
Later Team Green got the opportunity to bat 17 overs in the remaining part of the day’s play and they scored 73-1 in their first innings. Pallav Das remained not on 40(4X6, 6X1) and he was giving accompany by Hrishikesh Tamuli (10no).
