Trophy of Durand Cup to be unveiled in Kokrajhar today

KOKRAJHAR: The trophy of 132nd edition of Durand Cup would be unveiled on Saturday at a grand unveiling ceremony to be held at Bodofa Cultural Complex, Kokrajhar. The132nd edition of the oldest football tournament in Asia and for the first time in the history of the tournament, Durand Cup will be organized in Kokrajhar. The Indian Army along with support of the spirited leadership of Bodoland Territorial Council will host this elite tournament at Sports Authority of India stadium, Kokrajhar.

For Kokrajhar edition of Durand Cup, the Trophy Tour program is scheduled on Saturday where the unique Trophy of Durand Cup will be unveiled at Bodofa Cultural Complex Auditorium to the football enthusiast’s populace in Kokrajhar. Thereafter, on the same day the trophy will be on display for the public at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) Stadium and Bodoland Territorial Council Secretariat.

This August moment will be graced by All India Football Federation president Kalyan Chaubey, Chief Executive Member of Bodoland Territorial Council, Pramod Boro, Nandita Gariosa, Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Assam, Major General Dinesh Hooda, VSM, Chief of Staff, Gajraj Corps, Major General S Murugesan, General Officer Commanding, Red Horns Division and Major General Mahendroo, Vice Chairman Durand Organizing Committee.

On Friday, rehearsal of cultural programme for trophy unveiling was held at Bodofa Cultural Complex.
