GUWAHATI: Promising cricketer of Assam Jintimani Kalita, who will join Mumbai Indians for the forthcoming Women's Premier League, said that it’s a huge opportunity for her and she will utilize it to open the door of the National team. The player is expected to fly to Mumbai soon.

In the State cricket, Jintimani is a very known face but not the same outside the cricket arena. However, the situation changed instantly once Mumbai Indians bought her for Rs 10 lakh during the Women's Premier League auction on Monday.

The girl, hailing from Mangaldoi, in her first reaction to The Sentinel said, “ Honestly speaking, I was not sure that I would get a chance to play the first edition of the Women Premier League. But for the last a few seasons I was doing well and thought it might help me. Finally it’s happened and I am extremely happy.”

Sharing her early days in the game, Jintimani said, “Actually, earlier I dropped my brother to the field when he would go for training. After a few days, the game started to attract me and I joined it. That time, perhaps I was around 12 years old.”

About her future plan, the all rounder said, “I dream to don the jersey of the national team one day and it is my ultimate goal. During the Women's Premier League, I will come in touch with some of the top international cricketers, and I will try my best to gain experience which will help me to reach my goal in the coming days.”
