Based on their performances, the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) selected Marak and Maibam.

The general secretary of the Assam Sport Climbing Association, Mayur Mahanta, said in a statement that Marak and Maibam have achieved top ranks in the Asian Youth Climbing Championship, which was held in Bengaluru last year.
