Sarah Taylor Becomes World's 1st Woman To Coach Men's Cricket Team

Abu Dhabi: Former England women's wicketkeeper Sarah Taylor has created history as she has been appointed as the assistant coach of the Abu Dhabi team.

With this appointment, Sarah became the first woman who has been appointed as the coach of a men's team in franchise cricket.

This league is starting from November 19th. Before Taylor, no woman got a chance to coach a men's team in franchise cricket, this will the first time.

Sarah Taylor, one of the greatest wicketkeepers in women's cricket, was also appointed as coach of the Sussex county team in England. Sarah became the first female specialist coach on a men's county team. Now she has gone a step further and has created a new history in franchise cricket by becoming the coach of the men's team.

Speaking on the same, Taylor said that her coming to the Abu Dhabi T10 League as a coach will inspire women and girls all over the world.

"Coming into franchise cricket, you get players and coaches from all over the world. There may not be such a practice here but I would like to think of it in such a way that if any girl and women see me in the coaching team then they will realize the opportunity and they will try for it. Many aspiring young girls player will say that If she can do it, why can't I'' she added.

According to Taylor, she has never been bothered by the male environment and she loves this challenge.

Taylor won two ICC Women's World Cups in her career playing for England. So far, she has played 226 matches for England.
