Sports organizer Sudhendu Paul passes away

Noted sports organizer from Silchar Sudhendu Paul passed away on October 13 at Silchar Medical College after suffering from COVID-19. He was 73 years old and left behind wife and two daughters.

GUWAHATI: Noted sports organizer from Silchar Sudhendu Paul passed away on October 13 at Silchar Medical College after suffering from COVID-19. He was 73 years old and left behind wife and two daughters.

A prominent social worker, Sudhendu Paul had served Assam Cricket Association in different capacities. He was the vice president from 2000-2002, besides assuming the office of the Joint Secretary from 1995-1997 and 1997-2000. Earlier, he was the Assistant Secretary of Assam Cricket Association from 1986-1989.

A multi-faceted personality, Paul was also a noted businessman, besides being the cricket secretary of District Sports Association, Silchar from 1979-1985 and assistant general secretary from 1990-1997. He was also the president of Tarun Sangha Club, Silchar and vice-president of Town Club, Silchar.

The Assam Cricket Association mourned the death of Paul.
