GUWAHATI : Two players from Assam included in the probable list of the Indian team which will participate in the forthcoming 4th Asian Kho Kho Championship. The 5-day selection camp will be held at the Sarusajai Sports Complex from March 14.
Addressing a media gathering in the city the president of the Assam Kho Kho Association Rajib Prakash Barua said that nearly 70 players from across the country will participate in the selection camp and two of them-Tirtha Deka and Ranjana Sarania-will be from Assam.
It may be mentioned that Tamulpur will host the fourth edition of the Asian Kho Kho Championship from March 20. Nearly 800 players from 14 teams are expected to take part in the tournament which will be held in India for the third time. Barua added that the preparation of the meet was at its final stage and president of the Kho Kho Federation of India Sudhanshu Mittal and president of the Asian Kho Kho Federation Rajiv Mehta will visit the venue on Tuesday. The competition will be held in makeshift indoor arena and three courts will be used which were already ready.
Meanwhile, the theme song of the 4th Asian Kho Kho Championship was released today at the same function. Noted singer Sangita Kakoti had given the voice in the beautifully tuned song.
