GUWAHATI: Veteran Cricket Association of Assam (VCAA) hails Assam Cricket Association for providing Financial Aid to former cricketer and sports organizer Atindra Nath Thakur of Dibrugarh who is suffering from some serious illness and Asif Ekbal Hussain of Titabor who is undergoing treatment in Mumbai due to illness.

Atindra represented Assam in the Cooch Behar Trophy in 1972-73 and Col. C.K Nayudu Trophy in 1977-78 and 1978-79 while Asif has been associated with Titabor District Sports Association as Cricket Secretary since 2009.

VCAA thanks ACA for sanctioning Rs 50,000 each to them as part of their welfare activity. This is stated by Nasir Gul khan, General Secretary, VCAA in a release.
