GUWAHATI: Veteran sports organizer and the secretary of the Assam Volleyball Association Dr Chaitanya Prasad Saikia passed away in Guwahati last night. He was 68. Saikia, admitted to a city nursing home earlier, breathed his last due to cardiac arrest. A diehard fan of volleyball, Saikia represented Gauhati Sports Association and State team in senior categories on several occasions and later also became the members of the Gauhati Sports Association. He was later elected as the secretary of the Assam volleyball Association
Assam Volleyball Association and Assam Olympic Association mourned the death of sports organizer.
